Dight Street, Collingwood
Completed (2019)
Dight Street is a series of progressive dwellings within a monolithic, textured façade that’s well suited to its site.
The design direction stems from a field trip to Japan and an appreciation for the country’s post-war architecture—particularly the vertical typology and considered approach to dense, urban development.
Guided by a restrained material palette, the building is composed of textured off-white render complemented by white metal blades that wrap around the stairs and balconies. A bronze sculptural form on top of the façade links visually to the bronze-clad point of entry and contrasts the raw exterior.
